Our firm
Mark Blackburne and Sonya Elmiger share a passion for accounting and Taupo, leading them to establish Blackburne Group in January 2010. But in actual fact, the story started many years before this.
Mark came to this beautiful town as a fresh graduate in the 1980's and worked hard to become a partner in a leading firm. Sonya, a local girl, set her sights on becoming a Chartered Accountant when she was at college and eventually joined Mark's team in 1998 after finishing her degree.
However, Blackburne Group is more than just Mark and Sonya. We are a group of passionate professionals who go beyond the numbers to help you achieve your goals and we have a long history of providing excellent service to our clients, from individuals to businesses.

Our detailed expertise in various industries has enabled us to attract a wide client base, with clients from all the way down in Otago up to the Far North. Technology enables us to seamlessly meet their requirements and we greatly enjoy our road trips and opportunity to get alongside our widespread client base. It’s hard to beat a cup of coffee meeting around the kitchen table in terms of finding out what really concerns our clients and how we can help!
Our office is located in a stunning spot overlooking the lake and the mountains, where we enjoy working in a modern and comfortable environment. Taupo is a beautiful town with a lot to offer, and we're proud to be part of this community.
